The best part of this dress is it’s material - an organic cotton and linen blend made of fingering weight yarn. It’s the perfect combination of cotton’s softness and linen’s cooling effect. It can absorb a lot of moisture before appearing wet, so sweat marks don’t really turn up. The weight of the knit gives the dress structure and doesn’t hold a crease the same way woven linen does. It can be ironed but doesn’t really need it. With every wash and tumble dry, the dress gets softer. This knit fabric does not snag or tear easily; despite it’s delicate style it is a hardy little number.
It can be ordered in raw yarn - meaning not dyed, at a lighter price. It is of a natural light wheat shade. For the colour yarn dress, I hand dye each batch individually for the order. It is difficult to capture the exact colour in photos, but the blue is somewhere between a light denim and sky solour, with a sort of heathered fade. The linen in the blend has a subtle reflective quality which adds depth to the colour that I find more noticeable in person.
