Summer’s Over Daisy

This piece began as a crochet daisy minidress, released as a pattern. Over roughly 60 hours of crocheting daisies in organic colourgrown cotton, a poem and a collage emerged alongside it, and these fed back into the dress: eyes worked into the floral mesh at the chest, a hand reaching out of the skirt, a small coin purse for hidden things. The poem, which appears in the collage: "Lazy Ms. Daisy Fields / Wasted the day away / Watching you in the garden / Hiding secrets in the weeds."
